Now that we have the main floors (bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen) and garage completed, we are putting in linoleum segments in the basement. These are pieces that lock in like laminate. Just need to get folks in after the holidays to do the plumbing and electrical.
The trip to Romania is paid for. Part of the mission is to work with a marginalized population-Gypsies. Although they are nomads all over Europe, many found Romania a place to stay. The gypsies are considered part of the underground economy in many ways. Although I remember giving clothes to gypsies in the former Yugoslavia, our instructions were to drop off the clothes at a designated spot and leave before they came. I also remember Jesse, my son, and I working on a park near a gypsy community in the Czech Republic. My experiences in Moscow were gypsy children that were amputated begging for money on the streets. Some Russian told me the gypsy community does this on purpose to attract more sympathy. Not exactly a positive spin on gypsies, and I do not know the real truth. Recently the police seem to keep them off the main areas in the major cities.
